Things to Do in Panama City Beach
Panama City Beach has not yet announced a large city-sponsored Labor Day celebration for 2026. More local music, restaurant specials and holiday activities may be added closer to September.

Even without one large holiday festival, there is plenty to do around Barefoot Paradise.
Plan an Early Beach Day
Labor Day weekend can still feel like the middle of summer. An early start can help you find parking, avoid some of the afternoon heat and enjoy the beach before the busiest part of the day.
Check the current warning flags before entering the Gulf. Panama City Beach visitors can sign up for updates by texting PCBFLAGS to 888777.

Visit St. Andrews State Park
St. Andrews State Park offers beaches, fishing, wildlife viewing, walking areas and seasonal transportation to Shell Island.
The park is normally open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown. Capacity, weather and holiday crowds can affect entry, so arriving early is the safer plan.
Explore Shell Island
Shell Island is accessible only by boat. Visitors can take an authorized shuttle or ferry, book an excursion or travel by properly equipped private boat.
The island is undeveloped, so carry water, sun protection and anything else your group needs. Shuttle schedules depend on weather and water conditions.

Walk or Bike at Conservation Park
Panama City Beach Conservation Park has more than 24 miles of trails and over a mile of boardwalks. Trail choices range from short walks to longer hiking and biking routes.
Take water, use sun and insect protection and expect some unpaved sections to be wet after heavy rain.
Spend an Afternoon at Pier Park
Pier Park offers shopping, restaurants and entertainment near the Russell-Fields Pier. It is also a useful backup when afternoon rain changes your beach or boating plans.
Restaurants may have long waits during the holiday weekend. Make reservations where available or eat outside the busiest dinner hours.
Using the Barefoot Paradise Golf Cart

The golf cart can make appropriate neighborhood trips more convenient, but it is not a vehicle for traveling to Seaside, Rosemary Beach or Alys Beach.
Guests must follow the rental agreement, operating instructions, age and license requirements, parking rules and all current traffic laws. Use the cart only on roads and routes where its operation is legally permitted. Never drive it on the beach, sidewalks, bicycle paths or prohibited roads.
Traveling With Your Dog
Barefoot Paradise welcomes approved dogs under the property’s current pet rules. Guests should disclose pets when booking and review applicable fees, size limits and house requirements.
Pets are not permitted on every stretch of beach. Use only designated pet-friendly areas and obey leash, cleanup and posted community rules.

A Simple Barefoot Paradise Labor Day Itinerary
Friday, September 4
Check in, unpack and review the house, hot tub, parking, golf-cart and pet instructions. Pick up groceries before the stores become busiest. Finish the evening with a beach walk or dinner nearby.
Saturday, September 5
Start with an early beach trip or drive to Seaside after confirming the farmers market schedule. Return to Barefoot Paradise for lunch and a break before spending the afternoon at Pier Park, Conservation Park or the beach.
Sunday, September 6
Visit the Rosemary Beach Farmers Market in the morning. Explore Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach or nearby shops before returning to the house for a break.
For the evening, choose either the 6:00 p.m. Alys Beach concert or the 7:00 p.m. Seaside concert. Leave early and allow time for traffic, parking and the walk to the event.
Monday, September 7
Enjoy one final beach walk or breakfast before checking out. Allow extra travel time because Labor Day departures can increase traffic on Panama City Beach Parkway, Front Beach Road and Highway 98.
Relax at the House Between Activities

A holiday weekend does not need to be scheduled from morning until night. Leave time to enjoy the private hot tub, outdoor space, grill, kitchen, games and comfortable living areas at Barefoot Paradise.
That downtime is especially helpful for families with children, guests traveling with dogs and groups that do not want every meal or activity to require another drive.
Labor Day Weekend Planning Tips
- Reserve your vacation rental early.
- Confirm every outdoor event before leaving the house.
- Choose either the Seaside or Alys Beach concert because they overlap.

- Make restaurant reservations where available.
- Buy groceries before the busiest holiday periods.
- Monitor the weather because September is part of hurricane season.
- Review the cancellation and travel-protection terms before booking.
- Follow all property, pet, golf-cart and parking rules.
